Assist with development and implementation of host country elements of expat policy for Volkswagen Group Technologies including housing, utilities, furniture allowance/rental, schooling, home leave, language lessons.
Main point of contact for day-to-day questions for approx. 40 expats from Germany to be based in Palo Alto. Potential for 2nd wave of expats to follow
Development and implementation of additional new global mobility programs for the JV e.g. international short term assignment program
Initiation and on-going management of relocation vendors supporting the expat program
Review and approval of invoices relating to expat program, including PO management
Management of shadow payroll process - receive German paid compensation and benefits data on monthly basis, collate US paid compensation/benefit data, share with designated tax provider to handle shadow payroll calculations, coordinate with payroll to ensure timely monthly payroll reporting and tax payments
Coordinate US immigration/visa processes for expats and other foreign nationals utilizing designated immigration counsel (currently Fragomen)
Develop reporting/analytics for JV expat program and broader mobility programs
Other ad hoc duties relating to JV expats and global mobility programs
This is what you'll need:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with employees of all levels
Strong analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize information, solve administrative problems, and prioritize assignments
Must be able adapt to changing priorities and deadlines and effectively collaborate with all functions
Excellent organization with attention to detail
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Google suite
