Job Summary:
This role will report to the Procurement Director and be responsible for managing multiple categories of products and services within NMS Labs' supply chain. This individual will work directly with lab operations, R&D teams, enterprise support functions and other requestors developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, driving cost savings, and ensuring the quality and availability of products/services.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field; master's degree preferred.
7+ years' experience in procurement or category management with solid knowledge and understanding of strategic sourcing.
Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI), procurement software and related tools (e.g., ERP systems, spend analytic tools).
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing and Procurement
Develop and implement category strategies aligned with overall business objectives, including cost reduction, risk mitigation, and supplier optimization.
Conduct market research to stay informed about regulatory changes and emerging technologies, identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and potential risks associated with suppliers and categories.
Lead comprehensive sourcing projects inclusive of: supplier qualification, RFPs, supplier selection, contract development, implementation assistance, purchase or blanket orders, compliance, and ongoing contractual maintenance.
Assess opportunity for spend segmentation and cost drivers. Utilize data analysis to make data-driven decisions, driving measurable reductions in year over year total cost of ownership for assigned categories.
Oversee Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to include regular supplier reviews and annual evaluations for all identified suppliers.
Continually develop strong relationships with internal business partners, staying connected with their individual business strategies and needs.
Generate purchase orders for complex and high value purchases, confirming specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules with stakeholders and maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
Monitor purchase orders ensuring that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders, communicating any back orders, missing or defective products, and expediting, as necessary.
Contract Negotiation and Compliance
Work with Procurement Director and Stakeholders to negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms, including but not limited to pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements.
Ensure compliance with SOPs and contractual obligations and monitor supplier performance against agreed-upon terms.
Lead contract renegotiations to drive value and efficiency.
Acts as a change agent, collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively assess internal and external processes, influence effective change, and drive innovation and continuous improvements.
Advocate for Procurement as a value-added partner.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
Ability to talk, hear, stand, reach with hands and arms, and use hands and fingers to manipulate instrument/equipment controls, computer keyboard, office equipment, objects, or tools.
Moving from one work location to another to sit and stand, sometimes for extended periods of time.
Vision (with correction) including color, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
