Job Description: As a member of the Human Resources (HR) team, the HR Business Partner will function as a generalist in a variety of HR activities with a focus on day-to-day HR operations of the assigned Business Unit (BU) to ensure operational excellence. The HRBP will partner with the department leaders within the BU to help achieve department goals and foster organizational excellence by utilizing extensive knowledge of HR practices. This role will provide coaching/guidance to department leaders on all aspects of management, leadership, and employee relations. As a culture leader in the organization, the HR Business Partner will learn about the key objectives and challenges of the assigned functional department, build relationships with stakeholders throughout the company, and partner with the broader HR organization to execute tactical and strategic initiatives. Reports to VP - HR Responsibilities - a typical day may include: Proactively provide day- to-day HR tactical advice and support to managers and employees based on HR strategies, policies, and programs. Consult on employee relations, performance improvement, discipline and other human resources issues as needed. Work closely with department management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Proactively manage people-related risk, support investigations, document findings, and provide problem-solving recommendations. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and federal, state and local employment laws, company policies, and procedures. Support annual performance review/merit increases cycles. Lead new hire orientations as needed. Serve as the internal partner to the department leaders on employment, wage and hour law compliance, policy matters, and ensure practices, policies and actions are aligned. Serve as a change agent helping the organization evolve to meet business objectives and work to positively impact challenging situations. Exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex, and confidential personnel issues. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and procedures. Work with business leaders to assess, create and implement innovative solutions to support a variety of employee engagement initiatives. Track metrics and analyze trends in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies. Participate with other HR team members in leading assigned HR projects as needed in the areas of performance management, succession and talent assessment, learning, Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DE&I), onboarding, engagement, policy updates, compensation administration, employee communication and people-related customer responses. Partner with HR team and HR VP to support annual compliance filings. Promote and demonstrate behaviors consistent with YRCI’s culture and values.
