Job Description:

Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI) is seeking a collaborative, influential, and effective Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to lead the organization's clinical and administrative team members. The ideal candidate is an effective and innovative leader with experience in managing individuals of all levels through an evolving healthcare landscape.

AMI is one of the largest independently owned and operated outpatient radiology practices in New Jersey, with over 30 office locations, multiple joint ventures, over 70 providers, and 900+ staff members in clinical and administrative areas, supporting a growing patient population and demand for services.

Position Overview:

The CAO will join the innovative executive team at AMI, providing strategic leadership and valued contributions to new and ongoing initiatives.

The CAO is responsible for providing daily oversight at the practice, ensuring efficient operations that provide best-in-class patient and employee experiences. The CAO will provide oversight and management in Clinical Operations (diagnostic imaging, women's imaging, and vascular services), Safety & Compliance (QA, ACR, NJDOH, and Employee Health), Office Administration (radiology site managers), Administrative Services (pre-authorizations and patient registration), and Radiologist scheduling and coordination. Efforts supporting day to day oversight and the continual success of the practice include collaboration with other executive members, participation in ongoing and new operational objectives, departmental staffing initiatives, and relationship building with internal & external stakeholders.

Core Functions:
  • Focuses on the day to day management of clinical & office administration
  • Establishes, tracks, and maintains top metrics within the defined business lines
  • Works collaboratively with the Chief Integration Officer to incorporate new facilities, equipment, and operational changes
  • Reports, informs, updates, and responds to inquiries from other executive team members regarding ongoing and new operational objectives and ongoing requests from this leadership group
  • Recommends and implements staffing plans, ensuring compliance, making necessary adjustments, and monitoring from a budgetary perspective
  • Reviews and maintains leasing and vendor contracts for clinical equipment, medical & office supplies, and GPO
  • Collaborates with the executive team to ensure successful and realistic budgetary goals, and reports budget information to the CFO and executive team as requested
  • Collaborates with the CMO to establish and implement clinical procedures and protocols
  • Analyzes, strategizes, and prepares for operational impacts to all external and internal stakeholders, including AMI patients, employees, physicians, providers, partners, referrers, and community members
  • Effectively collaborates with and partners with all AMI departments and leadership teams to promote and drive operational performance, ensuring successful outcomes and resolutions

This is an exempt, on-site position based in AMI's Corporate Headquarters in Atlantic County, New Jersey. Requirements and qualifications for the CAO position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or healthcare related field is required
  • MBA, Master's in Healthcare Administration, or other relatable Master's Degree strongly preferred. Experience relevant to this CAO position in the healthcare industry will be considered in lieu of a Master's Degree.
  • NJDOH, JCAHO, ASC experience is a plus
  • Demonstrative excellence in people management. Experience managing and providing oversight to team members at different levels of management with varying experience levels
  • Strong familiarity, knowledge, and understanding of a best-in-class patient experience
  • Willing and able to take a hands-on approach with projects and work towards resolutions
  • Possesses an ability to meet organizational objectives
  • Possesses an ability to promote effective and ongoing collaboration among team members and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and abilities
