Job Description:
The Construction Fleet Dispatcher coordinates, schedules, documents, and manages all heavy haul transportation activities for the company. They must be an expert in Florida DOT regulations and ensure safe and compliant operations by drivers and third-party vendors. This role involves managing heavy off-road construction equipment moves in a high-performance environment.
Job Duties:
Lead the logistics/heavy haul team daily
Coach and mentor team members
Maintain knowledge of regulations and requirements
Use a centralized system for documenting moves, scheduling drivers, and assigning carriers
Ensure data quality in service operations
Approve timesheets and allocate driver hours
Address employee issues and concerns
Review and approve repair estimates
Complete annual employee reviews
Generate reports, analyze data, and drive corrective actions
Lead regular team meetings and encourage open communication
Foster an engaged work environment with accountability and teamwork
Follow all safety rules and company policies
Participate in company-sponsored training
Maintain positive relationships with peers, management, and support resources
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Skillset Requirements:
HS Diploma or Equivalent
3+ years of experience dispatching heavy haul for the transport of off-road construction equipment
Professional experience with prioritizing, scheduling, and expediting repairs of a heavy equipment fleet
Experience managing a company's DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance program
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to generate reports, analyze data, and take the necessary course of action
