Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Tax Manager to serve as a key leader within our team, supporting senior leadership and managing client-facing responsibilities. This individual will supervise direct reports, lead a team of up to six (including interns), and contribute to the firm's strategic growth. The ideal candidate has the potential to grow into a Partner role, is comfortable in client-facing interactions, and is passionate about tax compliance and business-side tax strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee tax compliance and consulting for SMB clients, focusing on construction and manufacturing industries.
Review corporate, partnership, and combined state tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP standards.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and supervision to a team of staff and interns.
Address and resolve client issues, fostering strong professional relationships.
Collaborate with leadership to implement efficient, paperless processes leveraging technology.
Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with clients to ensure a high level of service and satisfaction.
Performance Objectives:
90 Days: Fully understand PriceKubecka's technology and tax process.
180 Days: Meet the budgeted hours for the department.
365 Days: Be the primary reviewer of all tax returns, maintaining less than a 10% error rate upon partner review.
Qualifications:
CPA certification is required.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a public accounting firm, with supervisory experience preferred.
Expertise in corporate tax, S-corps, and C-corps, with proficiency in federal and state tax compliance and consolidated returns.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); experience with CCH Engagement and CCH Access is a plus.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (advanced degree preferred).
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Familiarity with paperless accounting environments and technology-driven processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of tax preparation experience in a CPA firm.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build and manage effective teams.
