As Rubicon deepens its commitment to supporting paradigm shifting work in the healthcare sector, our analysts will serve as the tip of the spear for originating great investment opportunities that seek to solve healthcare's most complex systematic challenges. This role presents an opportunity to dive into diverse segments within healthcare and identify the most promising companies and leaders for consideration. Analysts will partner with our deal teams to understand what makes a compelling investment opportunity and work collaboratively to cultivate a pipeline of investable opportunities.
Role Description & Necessary Experience
The ideal candidate is proactive, curious and relentless in their work, and must have a strong desire to meaningfully improve our healthcare system. Standout candidates will have an excellent academic record and prior work experience in sales, business development and/or startup experience. A demonstrated track record of being a self-starter, clear communicator and persistent in vocational and academic pursuits is a must. As an investment analyst, you will learn to differentiate between business models within a given sector, various deal structures and the affiliated modeling skills, how to engage and evaluate executive leadership teams, and how to create and present an investment case for compelling businesses.
Analysts will participate in all stages of the deal process as a part of their assigned team while maintaining a focus on identifying and vetting investable opportunities. Responsibilities for the role will include but aren't limited to:
Conduct market and industry research to identify and qualify investment opportunities
Use monitoring and scraping tools such as ChatGPT, MailChimp, LinkedIn, SourceScrub, ContactOut and others to proactively seek out and engage with interesting companies and teams in identified sectors
Engage in weekly pipeline reviews with team leads to track progress and advance research strategies while continuously learning about compelling opportunities in healthcare.
Review industry newsletters, conference lists, and Rubicon relationships to identify high quality companies and engage the most interesting prospects.
Help with transaction-specific responsibilities including due diligence and quantitative analysis
