This critical role is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of an engineering project from conception to completion, ensuring that all design specifications, project requirements, and timelines are met by coordinating with various teams, managing budgets, solving technical problems, and maintaining quality and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee capital projects within the 4 manufacturing sites of KPFG. This is a salaried position with a complete benefits package reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Prepare project scope statements for projects involving replacement, quality improvements, environmental, cost reduction, profit improvement, new products, and/or increased production of existing products.
Initiate innovations with respect to process and equipment modifications or changes, which improves operating conditions, safety, energy conservation, environmental concerns, and/or profitability.
Manage capital and expense projects from conception to production, including preparation of financial justification, specifying, purchasing, as well as tracking project spending.
Complete design, scheduling, and construction of assigned projects, with due regard for: Safety, quality, equipment sizing, energy efficiency, permitting, budget compliance, etc.
Execute Management of Change procedures and Pre-startup Safety Reviews as appropriate.
Work with internal resources and outside engineering firms on project/process design, building design, 3D models, structural, mechanical, & piping drawings, P&ID’s, PFD’s, specifications, and construction management.
Prepare bids, review and discuss planned work with Contractors during bidding period. Follow approved bidding and contract administration procedures.
Schedule and inspect construction during construction period. Solve construction issues when they occur.
Prepare and distribute equipment lists and O&M manuals to EDMS Site, Production, Purchasing, and Maintenance Departments.
EDUCATION:
Minimum of a BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering required. Other degrees may be applicable with appropriate experience.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is desired. Experience in project management, including directing construction-related activities, is preferred.
Understand, create, and update process flows, including documentation and standard operating procedures.
Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time study, and process balancing.
General understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
