The Division of the Social Sciences at the University of Chicago invites applications for a part-time Lecturer 1B in the Master of Arts Program in the Social Sciences (MAPSS) to teach in the Spring Quarter of 2025. The successful candidate(s) will teach one course related to the practice and application of social science research in the non-profit, for-profit, or government sectors.


We seek applicants who can teach courses of interest to graduate students in the Social Sciences Division and advanced undergraduates in the College.


We have a strong preference for applicants who can teach in person in Hyde Park, either during the day or in the evening.


This appointment is renewable depending on funding and programmatic need.


The terms and conditions of employment for this position are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the University.



Qualifications



Applicants must have a PhD or MA with relevant equivalent professional experience in their teaching area by the start of the appointment.
