Description: The senior data scientist is a member of the Data and Analytics Information Technology team, having a critical role in supporting the BHE process improvement center of excellence process transformation and process mining initiatives. The data scientist assists global process owners and specialists in translating process mining use cases into technical and data requirements, and participates in other Data and Analytics center of excellence initiatives. This position works with information technology teams across the company to extract, transform, validate and load data into process mining and other data and analytics software systems including Hadoop (Cloudera), Oracle Analytics Server, and Microsoft Power BI. This individual contributes to model development, model testing, data validation and data integrity efforts in the course of daily work. Provides Support to the following positions:

Responsibilities: Mentor a team of data scientists, providing guidance, technical expertise, and support to ensure the successful execution of projects. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Oversee, in conjunction with product owners, end-to-end data science projects, from problem definition and data exploration to model development, validation, and deployment
Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze complex datasets, extract meaningful patterns, and develop predictive and prescriptive models.
Contribute to the development of the company's data strategy by identifying opportunities to leverage data science to enhance business processes, optimize operations, and drive revenue growth.
Collaborate with key stakeholders from various departments within the company, including Performance Engineering, Asset Performance, and T & D to understand their data needs and deliver solutions to meet business objectives.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and GenAI technologies. Evaluate and implement new tools, algorithms, and frameworks to enhance the team's capabilities.
Ensure the team creates and maintains documentation using appropriate tools, including wikis for narrative documentation and version-controlled repositories for technical documentation.
Operate in agile environment intended to facilitate iterative development and continuous delivery.
Effectively communicate with colleagues on both technical and non-technical topics, across a variety of communications platforms, including voice and video calls, chat, and email.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, software engineering or a related technical field. Masters in data science or related technical field preferred. Five years of related work experience, primarily in a data science, modeling and administration role. Experience with data analytics and/or process mining technologies is a plus. Strong skills with SQL and NOSQL, data extract, transform and load (ETL) processes. Demonstrated knowledge and minimum two years' experience working with any one of the following is required: Python, R, VenSim, Extend, Arena, Celonis, SSAS, SPSS, MATLAB, SAS/STAT or other advanced operations modeling software related to data science, business intelligence and analytics. Capabilities in more than one area are a plus. Preferred skills in Cloudera, Kafka, Spark, Hive, Pig, Cloudera, Sqoop, Azure DevOps. Experience participating in transformation projects and managing a variety of organizational stakeholders and goals. Strong project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects concurrently. Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to appropriately monitor and manage solutions and data throughout BHE. Demonstrated ability to understand and utilize computer systems and applications. Strong personal computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, M365, One Drive, etc.) Experience in process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, or other formalized improvement methodologies) is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders at various levels throughout the organization. Strong leadership skills, effective interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
