SA-TECH supports the U.S. Army Sustainment Command's Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise Logistics Support Services at Schofield Barracks, HI. We provide maintenance services in the form of above-brigade-level, field, sustainment, and limited depot-level maintenance support as well as transportation counseling services and handling passenger, equipment, and cargo movements for Army Field Support Battalion Hawaii's (AFSBn-HAW) assigned tactical units and government affiliated civilian agencies.


We are currently hiring an Operations Supervisor for the TMP at Schofield Barracks, HI to oversee and facilitate progress of work across all TMP actions. Responsibilities encompass a full range of administrative tasks & technical duties that support transportation operations tied to Army Logistic Support Services. This position provides direct supervision and guidance for all Motor Vehicle Operators and Dispatchers through training, coaching and performance management. This position works under the general guidance and supervision of the Transportation Division Manager.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates, executes, and manages daily workload priorities as determined by the Transportation Division Manager through active participation in day-to-day operations.
  • Directs the scheduling of Motor Vehicle Operators (MVO) for execution of Transportation Movement Requests (TMRs) to optimize efficiency, maintain high quality work standards and ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Defense (DoD), Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and contract requirements.
  • Oversees TMR mission scheduling, NTV dispatching, GSA equipment maintenance & repairs, container yard management and licensing & testing and ensures operations are executed in accordance with GSA policies and procedures, Army regulations, and are in scope of the contract.
  • Utilizes GCSS Army, the GSA Drive Thru data base, the Joint Container Management system, and Unanet for operational functionality.
  • Solves problems involving TMP operations and will exercise active communication with the customer when issues arise.
  • Directly interfaces with the customer and is responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction while keeping the Transportation Division Manager informed of all issues/concerns.

Primary functions include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensures mission, dispatching, and licensing requirements are met in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS)
  • Monitors funding levels to ensure adequate funding prior to utilization of funds
  • Arranges mission schedules to prevent or reduce overtime utilization
  • Reviews and approves personnel labor sheets
  • Monitors employee work performance
  • Disciplines personnel who fail to follow polices/procedures or meet work requirements
  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports
  • Efficiently communicates and interacts with employees and the management team
  • Ensures a safe & healthy work environment for our employees.
  • Provides training to employees to promote compliance with contract requirements and adherence to approved policies and procedures.
  • Meets all assignment/report deadlines as established by management and will perform special projects as needed. Maintains high familiarity with DOT, DoD, and Army regulations as well as CBA and contract requirements
  • Provides contract support to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and security regulations.
  • Maintains TMPs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions and provides updates as necessary or as requested.

Work Conditions:

  • Working outside of normal business hours is required to support contract requirements.
  • Work is typically performed in well-ventilated and lighted areas with some lifting and moving of materials.
  • Position requires standing, walking, and sitting while working either indoors or outdoors.
  • While performing the job, you may be required to lift/carry, pull/push, reach, squat, and kneel.
  • You may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
  • You are expected to be available via phone at all times and are subject to being called into work as needed.
Requirements:

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two to three (2-3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in Transportation.
  • Knowledge of DOT, Federal and Army transportation regulations.
  • Ability to research and explain regulations, policies and procedures as they relate to the position.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Amazing customer service skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 software applications.
  • Detail-oriented and well organized.
  • Team player and self-starter.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior multi-tasking skills.
  • Efficient time management skills.
  • Ability to obtain SECRET security clearance (if deemed necessary).
  • Current Hawaii Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain and maintain NACI investigation.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
  • Pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing throughout employment is required.
