SA-TECH supports the U.S. Army Sustainment Command's Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise Logistics Support Services at Schofield Barracks, HI. We provide maintenance services in the form of above-brigade-level, field, sustainment, and limited depot-level maintenance support as well as transportation counseling services and handling passenger, equipment, and cargo movements for Army Field Support Battalion Hawaii's (AFSBn-HAW) assigned tactical units and government affiliated civilian agencies.
We are currently hiring a Motor Vehicle Dispatcher (MVD) at our Schofield Barracks, HI location. This position is assigned to the Transportation Division and works under the general supervision and guidance of the Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) Operations Supervisor and Transportation Division Manager. Our MVD is responsible for the assignment of motor vehicles and drivers for conveyance of freight or passengers.
This individual dispatches and tracks vehicles, equipment and containers and schedules transportation services, processes accident reports, administers eye/reaction tests for military licenses, prepares detailed documents, maintains activity/mission reporting logs and coordinates equipment maintenance/repair. Our dispatchers work closely with management to ensure all requirements are met and/or exceeded and customers are satisfied with the transportation services we provide.
Essential job duties include (but may not be limited to):
Ensure drivers/customers have proper credentials prior to dispatching equipment.
Dispatch vehicles/equipment to drivers/customers while maintaining dispatch activity logs.
Enter mileage of dispatched equipment into GSA Drive Thru and GCSS-Army data bases and onto pre-created spreadsheet.
Track/assist with movement of ISO containers using Joint Container Management data base.
Process Transportation Movement Requests (TMRs), enter onto pore-created spreadsheet, and track for approval.
Process accident reports to meet reporting requirements and to initiate damage repair.
Administer eye/reaction tests in order to issue military licenses.
Maintain maintenance tracking log, mileage report, and container inventory report.
Coordinate maintenance and repair of department vehicles in order to expedite work and maximize benefits of warranties and service contracts.
Additional duties may also include:
Cross-utilization in other job duties such as safety, security and environmental.
Housekeeping of office areas, warehouse and container yard.
Forklift certification and operation for container management.
Mission ride-alongs to learn and assess delivery/pick-up locations.
Overtime work as required.
Other duties as deemed necessary.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically performed in well-ventilated and lighted areas with some lifting and moving of materials.
This position requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying, pulling/pushing, and reaching, squatting and kneeling while working either indoors or outdoors.
May be required to lift 10-50 lbs. unassisted.
Work under the supervision and guidance of the Operations Branch Supervisor.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and answer multiple phone calls.
Requirements:
Education/Experience/Skills:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
At least two (2) years of relevant administrative experience required.
Prior experience as a Dispatcher on a military facility would be helpful.
Familiarity with DOT, Federal and Army Regulations preferred.
Excellent communication & customer service skills needed.
Must be able to hear with sufficient clarity so as to effectively communicate with co-workers and the general public, both in-person and over the phone.
Proficient in MS Office 365 software applications to include Word & Excel.
Detail-oriented and well organized team player and self-starter.
Current Hawaii Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain and maintain NACI investigation.
All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
