SUMMARY OF POSITION
Howard Technology Solutions is seeking a highly qualified Senior Consulting Engineer with extensive experience in Extreme Networks infrastructure, including Extreme Wireless and Fabric Solutions, to serve our clients in both a pre-sales and post-sales delivery capacity. This individual will leverage deep technical knowledge to design, implement, and troubleshoot robust network environments, perform assessments, and deliver superior networking solutions to meet diverse business needs.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Client Consultation:
Discover clients' needs, evaluate existing Extreme network design, and recommend solutions tailored to their use cases.
Communicate complex Extreme Wireless and Fabric networking topics effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Pre-Sales Support:
Collaborate with the sales team to scope and design network solutions with a focus on Extreme Networks infrastructure, including Fabric and Wireless solutions.
Develop and present technical proposals, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and Statements of Work (SOW).
Solution Delivery:
Design, configure and/or implement network solutions from vendors such as Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus, Extreme and Juniper.
Provide onsite installations or troubleshooting, as needed.
Network Assessment:
Perform network surveys or audits to identify areas of improvement, security weaknesses or less than optimal configurations.
Have proficient skill utilizing network surveying/auditing tools and hardware.
Strong understanding of best practices in a complex network environment.
Technical Support:
Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
Documentation:
Produce and maintain detailed network documentation.
Travel:
Travel to meet with potential customers and for on-site installations.
Qualifications:
10+ years of hands-on experience in networking technologies with a proven focus on Extreme Networks infrastructure.
5+ years of experience designing, managing, or maintaining Extreme Wireless and Fabric Connect solutions.
Proficient in multi-vendor environments, including Cisco, Aruba, and Juniper.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network security protocols, routing, switching, and wireless networking best practices.
Familiarity with enterprise-level network documentation tools.
Preferred Certifications:
Extreme Networks: ECSE (Extreme Certified Specialist/Engineer), XMC, or related Fabric Connect certifications
