Job Overview

As a Senior Building Envelope Consultant, you will play a critical role within the Envelope division, bringing a wealth of expertise to a team that thrives on collaboration and innovation. You will lead and contribute to projects involving new facade construction, modernization, and maintenance of existing buildings. This role is ideal for a professional with a proven track record of delivering results, fostering client relationships, and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee multiple phases of exterior wall construction projects, including shop drawing reviews, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Conduct and supervise field inspections and progress assessments, ensuring compliance with specifications and client expectations.
  • Prepare and review comprehensive project documentation, including reports, schedules, estimates, and technical analyses.
  • Provide expert interpretation of building codes and regulations across various jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to strategize, monitor progress, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Present advanced technical information and solutions to clients and design teams.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing by presenting case studies, white papers, and technical workshops.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering professional development and technical growth.
  • Ensure project productivity and performance meet or exceed established benchmarks.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical).
  • 5+ years of experience in building envelope design, engineering, and inspection.
  • In-depth knowledge of architectural and structural theories related to exterior wall systems.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong expertise in interpreting architectural drawings and technical documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and advanced modeling/drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications, including OSHA, ICC, or SPRAT.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
  • Experience with drone operation for inspection purposes.
