Job Description:

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President of Supplier Performance to lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) initiatives. This executive role is responsible for driving supplier performance improvement, managing the contracting process, mitigating third-party risk, and fostering supplier collaboration and innovation. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in supplier contracting, vendor management office (VMO) operations, supplier risk management, and CLM tools like Ironclad. This leader will focus on optimizing the performance of strategic suppliers, overseeing Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and ensuring that contracts and supplier relationships align with our organization's long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Performance & Relationship Management:
  • Lead and manage the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program, focusing on improving the performance of strategic suppliers through continuous monitoring, feedback, and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement performance management frameworks and KPIs to assess and improve supplier performance in alignment with business goals.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to drive mutual innovation, cost savings, and performance enhancements.
  • Regularly review and manage supplier performance against SLAs, ensuring that any issues are promptly addressed, and performance is optimized.

Contracting & Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM):
  • Oversee the contracting process from initial negotiation to contract execution, ensuring that agreements are robust, compliant, and aligned with strategic business needs.
  • Lead the implementation and management of Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems, specifically Ironclad, ensuring effective contract creation, execution, and compliance monitoring.
  • Work closely with legal, procurement, and business teams to ensure contracts mitigate risk, reflect negotiated terms, and include provisions for performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Supplier Risk Mitigation & Compliance:
  • Develop and manage supplier risk management programs, including supplier assessments, risk identification, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that third-party risks (e.g., operational, financial, compliance, reputational) are consistently identified, assessed, and mitigated through robust risk management processes.
  • Collaborate with compliance, legal, and IT teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, cybersecurity standards, and corporate policies in supplier relationships.
  • Manage third-party risk assessments for strategic suppliers and service providers, implementing ongoing monitoring and audits.

Supplier Innovation & Collaboration:
  • Drive supplier collaboration by identifying opportunities for joint innovation, cost reductions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish frameworks to encourage suppliers to contribute new ideas, technologies, and solutions that add value to the business.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating joint workshops, innovation sessions, and strategic planning with key suppliers.

Vendor Management Office (VMO) & MSP Oversight:
  • Lead the Vendor Management Office (VMO) to ensure the effective management and oversight of all third-party suppliers, including Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
  • Develop and execute VMO strategies that optimize supplier performance, enhance service delivery, and ensure proper governance across all outsourced services.
  • Manage and optimize relationships with MSPs to ensure they are meeting the organization's talent and service delivery objectives.
  • Ensure VMO best practices are followed, including the management of contract terms, vendor selection, performance reviews, and issue resolution.

Team Leadership & Development:
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing Supplier Performance and SRM team, ensuring that team members are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and support to succeed.
  • Drive talent development initiatives, providing coaching and training to enhance team capabilities in areas such as contracting, supplier performance, and risk management.
  • Foster a collaborative, performance-oriented culture within the team, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
  • Provide regular updates and strategic insights to senior leadership on supplier performance, risk management, and VMO activities.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and ensure supplier performance aligns with business requirements and objectives.
  • Prepare and present reports on key supplier metrics, risk assessments, contract compliance, and innovation initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Risk Management, or related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, MBA, or CLM certification) are highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in supplier management, procurement, or contract management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role managing teams, supplier risk programs, and VMO functions.
  • Extensive experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems, especially Ironclad, and a deep understanding of how to leverage these systems to drive efficiency and compliance in contracting processes.
  • Proven expertise in managing and improving the performance of strategic suppliers, including through performance metrics, risk mitigation, and supplier collaboration.
  • Deep understanding of supplier risk management, with hands-on experience designing and implementing risk assessment frameworks and mitigation strategies.
  • Strong experience in managing Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and implementing best practices for VMO operations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, legal teams, and senior leadership.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience building and developing high-performing teams and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement, supplier performance management, contract law, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to think strategically, with a hands-on approach to operational execution and performance improvement.
