This position is responsible for providing hands-on, on the floor supervisory support to all areas of Quality Assurance during production. The Quality Assurance Supervisor provides training in Quality Assurance procedures to FSQA Technicians and production staff. Assist in investigating customer complaints and summarize findings with a corrective action plan. Monitor new products and processes for control points and provide detailed reports and training.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee, train, and monitor production and FSQA technicians.
Support the Quality Assurance team as needed.
Perform holds on products and release for disposition based on food safety/quality non-conformities in ERP NAV system.
Complete the Daily Quality Summary Report and conduct daily GMP facility walkthroughs.
Manage and verify production and quality control documentation.
Ensure adherence to GMP, Good Documentation Practices, and Food Safety System protocols.
Create and deliver training presentations, collaborating with Operations subject matter experts.
Work with Operations and Quality Management to achieve quality assurance goals (e.g., clean facilities, process improvements, etc.).
Implement quality improvements in manufacturing, warehouse, and maintenance areas.
Complete Supplier Corrective Action Reports for out-of-spec raw materials.
Assist with root cause investigations, corrective actions, and customer complaints.
Support 3rd party and customer audits.
Enforce GMP and PPE compliance across all employees.
Receiving & Shipping Team Responsibilities:
Report GMP, HACCP, SQF, and specification deviations to Senior Quality Assurance Manager.
Inspect outgoing products before shipping.
Place raw materials/finished goods on Quality Hold as needed and manage holds in the system.
Conduct weekly warehouse inspections and scale calibrations.
Manage supplier communications for testing and COAs.
Inspect returned goods and materials for resale or repackaging.
Assist with document transfer to electronic format and maintain up-to-date supplier and inspection records
Food Safety & Culture Expectations:
Follow all Food Safety/Quality SOPs and escalate issues as necessary.
Attend Food Safety/Quality training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
**Food Manufacturing Experience is a Must!
3-5 years of experience in a lead QA role in food manufacturing, or 1-2 years with a BS in a science field
