Location: Skillman, NJ. Kenvue's corporate headquarters is scheduled to move to Summit, NJ in or around early 2025 and the role is expected to be based in Summit, NJ.

Travel %: 10%

Pay: $144,000 - $247,250

What you will do

This role will serve as the Consumer & Business Intelligence lead for Essential Health Listerine team. Through deep consumer understanding, application of a range of custom insight tools, advanced analytics tools, external market knowledge, and implementation of Kenvue Science of Brand Growth principles, you will be part of a high-performance team and serve as a strategic partner to Global Brand Growth team. They will be looked upon to:

Have breadth of experience across all facets of global brand development, including consumer segmentation, portfolio optimization, price positioning, consumer needs assessment, insight development, innovation development, communications and go to market strategy and testing.

Specific deep expertise in innovation is sought for this role, specifically:


  • Be an expert in developing strong insights within the "fuzzy front end" of innovation.
  • A leader in shepherding deep consumer and market knowledge through the innovation stage and gate processes through commercialization.
  • Mentor and coach a team of individuals that support Essential Health squads on "best in class" approaches to innovation development & implementation
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to inspire, qualify, and validate innovation in an agile way, leveraging rapid prototyping and testing, rapid qualitative and quantitative research, and co-creation with consumers to drive speed to market.
  • Seek external insights and partnerships with research agencies, technology providers, and internal teams to understand the trends that are shaping consumer preferences. Monitors market trends and emerging behaviors and formats to inform and inspire innovation, prioritizing the platforms that can drive disproportionate growth.
  • This role covers quantitative and qualitative research as well as analyzing in market data (i.e. NIQ Retail Panel) and application of analytics tools. In-depth consumer and HCP experience within positioning, consumer centric innovation pipeline development, ideation and portfolio management techniques are strict requirements.

Key Responsibilities

This individual plays a key role in influencing the vision, strategy and activation choices for Essential Health Listerine segment


  • Translate learnings into recommendations that drive sustainable business growth and stronger outcomes.
  • Strategic thinker that will partner with Sr. Director of innovation in defining portfolio innovation strategy and developing long-term innovation roadmaps.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles and find creative solutions.
  • Create a framework for how the team approaches innovation qualification and validation including the development of signature processes and action standards to ensure the consumer guides the pipeline.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams, including designers, scientists, marketers, and executives.
  • Leads the translation of consumer foundational work, broad, cross-customer shopper insights and category knowledge into insights to identify and address consumer & customer opportunities.
  • Uses knowledge of key macro trends and leads understanding of consumer, market and competitive landscape to diagnose business performance and address focused business issues; applies understanding of brand/marketing fundamentals in marketing plan and category/brand strategies development.
  • Maximizes analytics to understand business drivers and predict business growth. Working in concert with CBI analytics to ensure all deliverables are grounded in business capabilities/realities and expected to lead the implementation of learnings into actions.
  • Integrate knowledge from multiple sources and creates meaningful interpretations and recommendations that address business issues; Interpret and pragmatically translate research learning into feasible business building action steps, and ensure alignment with key business partners (including brand growth, customer strategy, capability and customer teams)
  • Uses broader range of research tools/resources/processes to assess business issues; Independently and proactively identifies the key business issues/questions and develops the most appropriate research design and analytic plan to address business/ research needs. Acts as an authority in research and questionnaire design and interpretation.
  • Supervises, mentors and coaches CBI team across Essential Health and greater CBI function

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications


  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required
  • A minimum of 12 years combined consumer and/or shopper insights experience is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of Sr Manager/Associate Director or minimum 2 years of Director level experience is required
  • A track record of successfully leading innovation projects from concept through to implementation
  • Strong understanding of innovation methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Agile).
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends within healthcare and/or personal care
  • Breadth of experience with consumer research, including methods, techniques, agency partners, and business applications. Must have comfort & aptitude to apply these skills to various situations and guide others on how to interpret/drive action against results under supervision.
  • Strong familiarity w/ Digital Analytics, Data Science, & Advanced analysis techniques, and ability to apply in the business.
  • Demonstrates ability to influence cross-functional and upper management to impact decision-making; Willingness to "have an opinion" backed up by insight and analytics and the confidence to influence key stakeholders in meetings and one to one basis
  • Highly strategic business knowledge with the ability to appropriately use judgment and risk-taking
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
