Salary: $55.00 USD Hourly - $59.00 USD Hourly

Description: Our client, a leading consumer products company, is currently seeking an Industrial Designer II. In this role, you will focus on developing innovative and functional packaging solutions that drive brand excellence and meet sustainability goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams-including Packaging, Sourcing, and Design-to deliver exceptional user-centered designs in the personal care and consumer packaged goods space.



This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Apply design, usability, and consumer research skills to champion a user-centered mindset and shape product experiences.


• Collaborate closely with the Neutrogena Senior Design Manager to execute breakthrough packaging designs, driving a full brand vision that elevates market presence.


• Produce functional and aesthetic mockups by operating and maintaining onsite 3D printers and partnering with vendors to create appearance models.


• Lead environmental impact initiatives, exploring material reduction, recyclability, and optimized shipping solutions that align with sustainability objectives.


• Research and recommend materials that satisfy functional requirements, cost considerations, and environmental impact targets.


• Prepare technical drawings and specifications to guide vendors and project teams, ensuring design intent is accurately executed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Design, Product Design, or a related field.


• Five or more years of experience in packaging or industrial design, backed by a strong portfolio demonstrating innovative, functional user experiences.


• Solid understanding of manufacturing methods for personal care and consumer packaged goods, including bottles, closures, cartons, conversion/filling, retail/e-commerce distribution, and design for recyclability.


• Expertise in SolidWorks or similar parametric surface modeling software.


• Proficiency in Keyshot and Adobe Creative Suite for visualization and concept development.


• Ability to develop and test concepts through user research.


• Familiarity with 3D printing technologies (FDM, SL) for prototype creation.


• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Collaboration skills to work effectively with Packaging and Sourcing teams, aligning user experience goals with feasibility.


• Passion for staying current with beauty and packaging design trends, materials, and finishing techniques.


• Skilled in clear communication to present concepts and build consensus among stakeholders.


• Experience incorporating environmental impact considerations in design approaches, such as optimizing materials and packaging efficiency.
