SA-TECH supports the U.S. Army Sustainment Command's Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise Logistics Support Services at Schofield Barracks and Pohakuloa Training Area, HI. We provide maintenance services in the form of above-brigade-level, field, sustainment, and limited depot-level maintenance support as well as transportation counseling services and handling passenger, equipment, and cargo movements for Army Field Support Battalion Hawaii's (AFSBn-HAW) assigned tactical units and government affiliated civilian agencies.
We are currently hiring an Accounting Clerk II at our Schofield Barracks, HI location to use a knowledge of double entry bookkeeping in performing a variety of accounting tasks. This position works under the general guidance and supervision of the Personal Property Branch Operations (PPPO) Supervisor.
Essential job duties include (but may not be limited to):
Posts actions to journals, identifying subsidiary accounts affected and debit and credit entries to be made, assigning proper codes.
Reviews computer printouts against manually maintained journals, detecting and correcting erroneous postings, and preparing documents to adjust accounting classifications and other data.
Reviews lists of transactions rejected by an automated system, determining reasons for rejections, and preparing necessary correcting material.
On routine assignments, employee selects and applies established procedures and techniques.
Detailed instructions are provided for difficult or unusual assignments.
Completed work and methods used are reviewed for technical accuracy.
Other duties as deemed necessary.
Work Conditions:
Duties are normally performed in an office environment.
Will be required to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, lift, carry items and walk periodically throughout the workday.
Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Duties are typically performed in an office environment.
Requirements:
Education/Experience/Skills
High School diploma/GED.
Accounting – Government CBA or IBA Traveling Accounting Reconciliation.
CD Rom and/or zip drive disk loading and usage of Recon plus program.
Detail-oriented and well organized.
Ability to multi-task and quickly learn new skills.
Team player, self-starter and works well under pressure.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with people.
Ability to review, research, study, explain various military regulations and policies.
Ability to quality-check Transportation files – shipment and travel documentation.
Relocation assistance is not provided and candidates must reside within commuting distance or indicate a willingness to relocate at their own expense.
Current HI Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
U.S. Citizenship required.
All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include Drug, SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
