DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:


Tyson's Treasury department is responsible for providing the treasury services and funding required to achieve the company's strategic objectives via a capital structure that appropriately optimizes efficiency and flexibility. The team's objective is to maintain appropriate minimum liquidity, ensure and participate in uninterrupted access to capital markets, and minimize total funding costs for the organization.



SUMMARY OF ROLE:


With primary responsibilities within the lease financing function, this role will support the request, negotiation, and execution of lease agreements as well as the day-to-day administration of the broader lease portfolio. This role will also support other Treasury-related activities including rating agency analysis, cash management, letter of credit management, real estate management, and general research. On a less frequent basis, this role may provide support on certain Corporate-Finance-related activities including competitive analysis, peer analysis, market research, statistical and quantitative analysis, and maintaining financial models and databases for commodity and stock analysis. This role is expected to work 20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer (although flexibility is allowed).



QUALIFICATIONS:




  • EDUCATION: Finance or Accounting major preferred. Junior or senior classification preferred; senior classification with intent to immediately pursue grad school also acceptable. This role will be structured as a 15-month program (March 2025 through May 2026), and the future incumbent must maintain their status as a student for the entire term of the internship.


  • EXPERIENCE: Previous work experience in any field.


  • COMPUTER SKILLS: Strong computer skills and the ability to multi-task. Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. SAP experience and Bloomberg experience also a plus, but not required.


  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Strong written and verbal skills


  • TRAVEL: None


  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None


  • SPECIAL SKILLS: Must be a self-starter who possesses the ability to manage their time and work both independently and in teams.
