Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Manager, Application Development in Cary, NC.

Responsibilities:


  • Manager, Application Development will conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps, knowledge requirements, and future development needs of engineers

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices relevant to the company's engineering needs

  • Design and develop engaging and effective training curricula, including onboarding programs for new hires, technical skills training, professional development workshops, and leadership programs

  • Incorporate a variety of training methodologies, such as online courses, in-person workshops, mentoring programs, job shadowing, and cross-functional projects

Program Implementation:

  • Deliver training programs or oversee the delivery by internal or external facilitators

  • Manage logistics for training events, including scheduling, venue selection, and materials preparation

  • Track participant progress, provide feedback, and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs

Performance Management:

  • Collaborate with engineering managers to align training programs with performance goals and individual development plans

  • Develop assessment tools to measure the impact of training on employee performance and skill development

Continuous Improvement:

  • Regularly evaluate training programs and gather feedback from participants and stakeholders

  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of training initiatives

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the budget for the engineering training program

  • Track expenses and ensure cost-effectiveness of training initiatives

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering managers, senior leadership, and external training providers

  • Communicate effectively about the training program's goals, progress, and impact







REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering role, with at least 2 years in a training or development capacity

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, practices, and technologies

  • Experience in designing and delivering technical training programs

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Proficient in using learning management systems (LMS) and other training technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field

  • Certifications in training and development (e.g., Certified Professional in Training & Development (CPTD))

  • Experience with instructional design principles and adult learning theory

Nice to have:

  • Ideal candidate has previous full stack engineering experience on both front end and back end technologies; Tech stack used is modern Python, Node, Typescript, and React

  • Serverless technology architecture, development and delivery experience (preferably using AWS Lambda, AWS API Gateway, AWS Event Bridge)

  • Experience with SQL (Postgres, SQL Server) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) solutions






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
