As a Mortgage Closer I, you will coordinate all aspects of the closing process and ensures that all terms of the loan approval are met. You must be able to recognize and correct insufficient or incorrect information quickly in order to meet strict closing deadlines to include, but not limited to, preparing and processing closing documents, administration, and closing of loans according to requirements for residential mortgage programs.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Prepare and audit all required closing documents in a timely manner. Ensure the data integrity on processing/closing system is accurate. Obtain all required documents. Obtains credit information and ensures sufficient loan collateral.
- Communicate with escrow/title companies, loan originators, and other parties to ensure all conditions and regulatory requirements are met prior to funding. Responsible for fund disbursement and wire loan funds to title company in a timely manner. Prepare Closing Instructions, issue mortgage disbursement checks or prepare wiring instructions. Balance loan transactions; prepare and coordinate approval of Closing Disclosure with title companies; send mortgage loan closing documents electronically prior to the closing deadline. Attend training to remain current on all investor, PMI, appraisal, or corporate requirements that impact loan closings and ensure loans are processed following these guidelines and requirements.
- Maintains and transfers loans between computer systems. Processes and administers existing loans and records new applications and loans.
- Establishes relevant files and processes loan payments. Answers more complex member questions and concerns. Prepares periodic loan and/or credit reports.
- Maintain knowledge of Interra's policies and procedures. Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experience
2+ years' loan processing or closing experience in the financial industry or related field.
Education / Certifications / Licenses
A High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver's license.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Professional level of verbal and written communication skills are essential to the position.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated knowledge of Credit Union regulations, products, policies, procedures, and services.

Physical Requirements
Able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.
Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
