Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

The Construction Administration Manager oversees and facilitates the construction phase of land development projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, project timelines, and quality standards. Acting as a liaison between the design engineer and construction contractors, this role provides support through preconstruction meetings, site observations, constructability reviews, and the management of project documentation such as RFIs and shop drawing submittals.

Primary Responsibilities (others may be included):


  1. Construction Oversight:


  • Observe construction activities on behalf of the design engineer to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and standards.

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions.

  • Document field observations and prepare progress reports for the project team.


  • Preconstruction Coordination:


  • Participate in and lead preconstruction meetings to establish expectations, timelines, and communication protocols.

  • Collaborate with contractors, design engineers, and stakeholders to address project goals and requirements.


  • Project Documentation Management:


  • Manage and respond to Contractor RFIs (Requests for Information), coordinating with the engineer of record as needed.

  • Review and process shop drawings and submittals to ensure alignment with design intent and project specifications.


  • Constructability Reviews:


  • Conduct constructability reviews of design plans to identify and resolve potential construction challenges.

  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the design engineer to enhance project feasibility and efficiency.


  • Support for Engineer of Record:


  • Serve as a resource to the engineer of record during the construction phase, providing technical input and addressing field inquiries.

  • Facilitate communication between the project team and contractors to ensure alignment on construction goals and solutions.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).

  • 2-5 years of experience in a construction management or oversight role, specifically in land development projects.

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, standards, and best practices.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders.

  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

  • Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves.

What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:


  • Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, construction management, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with construction documentation, including RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals.

  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid).

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations.

Work Environment:


  • Primarily field-based with regular visits to construction sites.

  • Some office work required for documentation, communication, and meetings.

  • May involve occasional travel to project sites within the region.
