The role will support the sales objectives of the assigned Kistler Vehicle Testing business unit, focusing on products and systems within the defined market area, including dynamics and durability testing equipment. It will involve both sales development and technical assistance for new and existing customers. This will include regular visits to customer locations, primarily at test and development facilities across North America, to showcase vehicle testing products and service solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Regularly engages with key customers to understand their needs.
Identifies sales opportunities and new product offerings that align with the business unit's strategy.
Schedules customer meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to drive sales growth in line with targets.
Prepares quotations and manages the opportunity pipeline within the CRM system.
Assists in introducing Kistler products to customers, providing direct on-site support, including product installation and training for customer engineers and technicians.
Contributes to the market development of Service and Rental business opportunities within the product area.
Collects competitive market insights and supports the development of sales and marketing strategies for targeted market sectors.
Participates in trade shows for the product area and follows up on potential opportunities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
Experience in an automotive test and development environment or a similar technical/sales role is preferred, along with technical knowledge of automotive R&D sensors and related electronics.
Proficiency in ERP and CRM systems, specifically SAP, is essential.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel, is required.
The ability to take initiative and independently complete projects is important.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Physical requirements include the ability to sit at a desk for 90% of the workday and use a computer for 80% of the workday. The ability to lift products and equipment up to 25 lbs. unassisted is also necessary.
The role requires up to 50% travel for application support, trade shows, and training at Kistler, vendor, and/or customer sites.
