Job Overview
As a Senior Building Envelope Consultant, you will play a critical role within the Envelope division, bringing a wealth of expertise to a team that thrives on collaboration and innovation. You will lead and contribute to projects involving new facade construction, modernization, and maintenance of existing buildings. This role is ideal for a professional with a proven track record of delivering results, fostering client relationships, and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee multiple phases of exterior wall construction projects, including shop drawing reviews, design development, and construction documentation.
Conduct and supervise field inspections and progress assessments, ensuring compliance with specifications and client expectations.
Prepare and review comprehensive project documentation, including reports, schedules, estimates, and technical analyses.
Provide expert interpretation of building codes and regulations across various jurisdictions.
Collaborate with Project Managers to strategize, monitor progress, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Present advanced technical information and solutions to clients and design teams.
Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing by presenting case studies, white papers, and technical workshops.
Mentor and support junior team members, fostering professional development and technical growth.
Ensure project productivity and performance meet or exceed established benchmarks.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical).
5+ years of experience in building envelope design, engineering, and inspection.
In-depth knowledge of architectural and structural theories related to exterior wall systems.
Proven ability to lead complex projects and manage competing priorities.
Strong expertise in interpreting architectural drawings and technical documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and advanced modeling/drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications, including OSHA, ICC, or SPRAT.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) / Assoc. AIA or AIA.
Experience with drone operation for inspection purposes.
