Job Description:

The Mechanical Engineer II is a vital member of the Mechanical Design team at Ingenuity Engineers. This role involves close collaboration with the Project Engineer and Project Manager to develop mechanical design documents. These documents are primarily intended for use in producing drawings necessary for the mechanical permit of facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes advanced mechanical/HVAC theory/calculations, mechanical system components and devices.
  • Interpret codes, standards and design inputs with the ability to apply them within the design.
  • Develops calculations, designs narratives and work that serve as the basis for HVAC system designs and project specifications, working independently with minimal direction.
  • Serves as Engineer of Record for projects developed under their direction.
  • Reviews the work of junior team members, providing construction feedback and specific guidance on how to improve their designs and achieve project objectives.
  • Mentors associates with less experience, providing guidance and training to support their professional development.
  • Utilizes Revit, AutoCAD, energy calculation, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and other basic software to support setting up projects and assist in project flow.
  • Applies advanced engineering principles to solve technical and coordination issues.
  • Manages project designs and budgets with limited oversight.
  • Attends internal coordination meetings with the ability to take and give direction, make technical decisions and ensure project goals are met.
  • Conducts site visits and investigations independently or with minimal supervision, as required.
  • Cultivates relationships with clients to foster additional projects.
  • Enhances leadership and management abilities.
  • Provides cross-disciplinary technical and engineering assistance.
  • Contributes to business development efforts.
  • Refines and develops processes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Takes personal ownership of the work produced.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Previous Leadership experience preferred
  • Significant proven relevant technical experience and field experience.
  • Experience working in a professional A/E office, Consulting Firm, Construction Contractor, or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, energy calculation, and other design related software.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Bluebeam and other basic software.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and engage with external stakeholders and teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the components within mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems that require mechanical system support, effectively coordinating the requirements of these disciplines into the overall mechanical design.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods, with occasional bending and the capacity to lift up to 10 lbs. as needed.
  • Ability to travel.
