H.I.R.E. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Orange, CA, dedicated to maximizing skills and opportunities for formerly incarcerated and system-impacted youth and adults in Orange County through employment, mentorship, and community building. The organization aims to eliminate gaps in social, political, and economic opportunities for this community, promoting unity and equity. Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Director of Strategic Initiatives at H.I.R.E. The role involves leading partnership building, strategic planning, and developing funding streams and social enterprises to support the organization's mission. The Director of Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for overseeing the strategic development of our workforce reentry training facility, cultivating partnerships and ensuring our public facing programming/operations are functional. This role will spearhead efforts to diversify and expand funding streams while shaping the future of our organization to have a greater impact on the reentry community. While primarily based in Orange, CA, this role offers flexibility for remote work. Must be available for meetings/events in Orange County, CA.
Qualifications
Program Management, Strategic Planning, and Project Management skills
Analytical Skills and Fund Development experience
Ability to utilize research-informed and data-driven strategies
Strong communication and leadership skills
Experience working with marginalized or justice-involved populations
Knowledge of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles
Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's preferred
Experience • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in development, fundraising, nonprofit management, or within a social enterprise. • Experience managing large-scale projects, preferably with a focus on building community partnerships, workforce training, or housing initiatives. • Demonstrated experience in fund development, including securing major gifts, grants, and partnerships with corporate sponsors. • Proven track record of building and scaling up social enterprises or revenue-generating programs in the nonprofit or public sector.
