The Director of Engineering Services provides leadership and supervision of in-house and outside construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget. Implements plans to create and manage construction projects to achieve a safe, effective environment for patients, staff, and other individuals, consistent with the hospital's mission and vision.
Responsibilities
Supervise and assign construction project work to in-house or outside contractors. Establish effective communication to plan, coordinate, and schedule projects with users.
Assist the Vice President of Support Services in developing construction project budgets and time schedules. Monitor and ensure projects are on budget and completed with quality workmanship.
Recruit, supervise, and train support staff. Provide creative initiatives through training, development, and educational programs.
Review and ensure compliance with codes and regulations on all construction projects. Inspect projects for code compliance, workmanship, and equipment installation.
Develop and monitor departmental goals and objectives. Provide leadership through planning, organizing, and evaluating the quality of services provided.
Experience
Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience. Management experience is required.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Master's degree is strongly preferred.
