Position Overview The Chief Estimator - Electrical Construction is responsible for overseeing all estimating activities related to electrical construction projects. This role ensures the accuracy of cost estimates, bid proposals, and pricing strategies while collaborating with project managers and engineering teams to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the estimating department in preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical construction projects.
Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to develop comprehensive bid packages.
Collaborate with project managers to develop pricing strategies and ensure estimates align with project budgets.
Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
Manage the bidding process, ensuring timely submission of bid quotations and adherence to deadlines.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and assist in their development.
Conduct post-bid reviews to analyze bid outcomes and improve future estimating processes.
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new products to inform estimating practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.
7+ years of experience in estimating within the electrical construction industry.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and project management principles.
Proficient in estimating software and tools for cost analysis and bid preparation.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in cost estimation and pricing.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
