We're seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our flooring division! In this role, you'll oversee daily operations, strategic planning, and overall performance, ensuring the highest standards in flooring projects. We're looking for a dynamic, skilled leader with extensive experience in flooring, project management, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
Lead and manage a team of supervisors, installers, flooring technicians, and other staff.
Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve divisional goals and objectives.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, high performance, and continuous improvement.
Project Management:
Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of commercial and residential flooring projects.
Ensure projects meet specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Manage project risks, including safety, financial, and operational factors.
Financial Management:
Prepare and manage the division's budget, including forecasting and tracking expenses.
Monitor financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure profitability.
Negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
Operations
Oversee the maintenance and efficient use of flooring materials, tools, and resources.
Implement best practices for flooring installation, including hardwood, tile, carpet, vinyl, and laminate.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Regularly monitor project sites to ensure adherence to project plans and quality standards.
Client Relations
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
Address and resolve client concerns and issues promptly.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base and increase revenue.
Human Resources:
Recruit, train, and develop staff to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to employees.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism within the division.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in construction or flooring
Proven track record of successfully managing flooring projects from inception to completion.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
In-depth knowledge of flooring materials, techniques, and installation processes.
Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Certifications
Professional certifications in construction management or flooring are a plus.
OSHA certification or similar safety certifications are preferred.
