Position Overview The Audit Manager will oversee audit engagements, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards while providing strategic insights to enhance financial operations. This role involves managing audit teams, developing audit plans, and communicating findings to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Supervise and mentor audit staff, providing guidance and support throughout the audit process.
Develop and implement audit strategies, methodologies, and plans to ensure effective and efficient audits.
Communicate audit findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including management and the board of directors.
Review and analyze financial statements, internal controls, and risk management processes to identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of audit findings into organizational practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
Minimum of 5 years of audit experience within public accounting
Knowledge in nonprofit audits (i.e., public schools), government audits, or real estate audits
Strong knowledge of audit standards and regulations, including GAAP and GAAS.
Experience in managing and leading audit teams effectively.
Ability to commute to client sites as needed in Houston/ surround areas (10-25%)
