Our company is a leading Public Accounting Firm that provides a variety of accounting, tax, and consulting services.

We are based in Georgia and have multiple offices across the state, including in Atlanta, Macon, and other locations. Being a generalist type environment, we are known for working with a wide range of clients, including businesses, governmental entities, and nonprofit organizations.

Because of our growth, we a seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Tax Manager specializing in tax services for High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) and business clients. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of clients, including affluent individuals, closely-held business owners, partnerships, and corporations

Overview
The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of tax returns, providing strategic tax planning, and delivering proactive advisory services. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in individual and business tax compliance, with a demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and lead a team.

Responsibilities
Tax Compliance and Preparation

  • -Oversee and manage the preparation and timely filing of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for HNWIs, trusts, estates, partnerships, S-Corps, and C-Corps.
  • -Conduct thorough reviews of tax returns prepared by staff to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • -Maintain a deep understanding of the tax code and monitor changes in tax legislation that may impact HNWIs and business clients.
Tax Planning and Advisory

  • Provide tax planning strategies to HNWIs, including income, estate, and gift tax planning, wealth transfer, charitable giving, and succession planning.
  • Advise business clients on tax strategies for mergers, acquisitions, entity structuring, and business transactions to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for tax savings and guide clients on the implications of investments, real estate transactions, and other business interests.
  • Collaborate with internal specialists to offer integrated solutions, including consulting on financial planning and risk management.
Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of high-net-worth and business clients, fostering strong, long-term relationships.
  • Deliver exceptional client service by understanding each client's unique needs and tailoring advice accordingly.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by proactively providing insights and addressing client concerns related to tax compliance, strategy, and financial planning.
  • Collaborate with clients' external advisors, such as attorneys and financial planners, to ensure a holistic approach to client services.
Team Leadership and Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff and tax associates, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Provide training and guidance on complex tax matters to enhance team members' technical expertise and professional growth.
  • Manage workflow, ensuring that deadlines are met and that work is delivered with high quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Project and Firm Management

  • Lead multiple client engagements simultaneously, including managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Assist in the development of best practices, tax procedures, and quality control processes within the tax department.
  • Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities for additional services, participating in client presentations, and networking within the business community.
  • Contribute to the growth of the firm by developing internal and external training materials and presenting tax updates to staff and clients.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree (MST, JD, or LLM in Taxation) preferred.
  • Certification: CPA required; JD with tax specialization or EA will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals and closely-held businesses.
  • Proven track record of managing complex individual and business tax compliance projects.
  • Experience in a public accounting firm or similar environment is preferred.
  • Strong technical expertise in federal, state, and local tax laws, with a focus on HNWIs, partnerships, S-Corps, and C-Corps.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex tax issues to clients.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., CCH, ProSystem fx, Lacerte) and Microsoft Office Suite.
