We are seeking a skilled professional with a strong focus on extrusion techniques to join our team on a 12-month contract in Portland, OR. Key Responsibilities:
Material Science:
Act as a consultant on engineering and scientific matters, offering interpretations and advice on significant challenges.
Extrusion Processes:
Demonstrate expertise in single lumen extrusion, core and single conductor extrusion, and micro-extrusion.
Design and optimize extrusion dies and tooling, troubleshoot defects, and provide solutions to enhance processes and outputs.
Process Development:
Develop and standardize extrusion processes, including establishing processing windows, bracketing product inputs, and setting KPIs.
Troubleshoot and resolve process issues to maintain consistent product quality and regulatory compliance.
Equipment Knowledge:
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot extrusion equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
Implement preventive and unplanned maintenance strategies and ensure calibration accuracy.
Qualifications:
Experience:
5-7+ years of experience in extrusion.
Proven success in process development and optimization within a regulated environment.
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Skills:
Proficient in CAD software and engineering tools.
Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor junior engineers.
