The Process Controls Engineer will specialize in the design, implementation, and optimization of process control systems focused on aseptic processing, concentration, and puree production. This role requires a strong background in PLC programming, automation, and familiarity with Ignition's SCADA software. This position reports to the Director of Engineering.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
In-depth working knowledge of various manufacturers, PLC and HMI hardware and software application.
Understanding of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E and effectively implement electrical projects using this code.
Working knowledge of process control systems including instrumentation and process control hardware, software, and methods.
Understand food processing, thermal systems, CIP systems, and packaging.
Knowledge of graphic arts.
Low voltage wiring, facility power distribution, electrical and controls panel wiring, instrumentation functionality.
ABILITY TO:
Manage and coordinate a variety of complex projects.
Ability to design and execute extremely complex PLC and SCADA programs, including analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and debugging.
Identify, research, and analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions.
Understand and interpret specifications, maps, plans, and reports pertaining to complex capital improvement projects and plant expansions.
Use computers and computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, PLCs, HMD, and SCADA programs.
Use computers and computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and AutoCAD.
EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION/LICENSES, AND TRAINING:
A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field is preferred, with a minimum of 4 - 10 years of experience.
Alternatively, a minimum of 15 years of experience performing system integration, project management, PLC/HMI development programming, process engineering, control systems engineering, or related.
International Society of Automation - Certified Automated Professional and/or Certified Control Systems Technician is highly desirable.
