Job Summary: The Manufacturing Manager for Skid Technologies plays a critical role in ensuring successful customer outcomes by leading the daily operations of the business unit. This position is responsible for overseeing the entire fabrication process, allocating resources effectively to ensure that customer projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As a leader on the shop floor, you will guide a team of skilled fabricators, providing the necessary training, support and leadership to drive optimal performance and productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote a culture of safety, quality and productivity on the shop floor to ensure a secure and efficient work environment
Manage day-to-day operations by developing resource allocation plans that ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Lead and develop the manufacturing team, including skilled trades and project engineering resources, to drive performance and collaboration
Interview, select and hire new hourly team members to ensure a skilled and reliable workforce
Foster a culture that supports positive customer relations and outcomes by delivering employee feedback and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the group
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, efficiency and quality
Support organizational growth, helping scale the business to meet future demands and opportunities
The Ideal Candidate:
Will hold a 4-year engineering degree or have equivalent industry experience
Must have experience in managing manufacturing operations, preferably in an engineered-to-order or complex heavy manufacturing environment
Must understand and have experience teaching and implementing LEAN Manufacturing principles
Must possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can convey instructions clearly and concisely
Should possess strong organizational and time management skills, including prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality control
Must have the flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
