The Opportunity


  • Continuously monitor employee behavior and system activities for signs of suspicious or malicious actions.
  • Use security tools and software to collect and analyze data from internal systems (e.g., log files, network traffic, access controls, and employee communications).
  • Investigate alerts and unusual activities that could indicate potential insider threats.
  • Ensure Vituity sites physical and environmental security.
  • Perform audit logs review for all in scope but not limited to business-critical applications.
  • Identify and assess internal threats posed by employees, contractors, or third-party partners.
  • Develop, implement, and manage proactive threat detection techniques.
  • Initiate investigations into suspected insider incidents, collaborating with legal, HR, and IT teams.
  • Conduct thorough forensic analysis on suspected incidents to gather evidence of malicious activity.
  • Review access control systems and monitor user behavior to uncover potential violations of company policies or unauthorized data exfiltration.
  • Prepare detailed reports on findings and propose remedial actions to prevent further incidents.
  • Assist in developing and implementing internal security policies, procedures, and best practices to mitigate insider threats.
  • Recommend tools and methods to enhance monitoring capabilities and overall security posture.
  • Work closely with security teams, TechOps, Service desk, Enterprise Applications, Enterprise Engineering, legal teams, and human resources to understand and address internal threat risks.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to employees regarding security protocols and insider threat risks.
  • Support the organization's overall cybersecurity strategy by reporting findings to senior management and proposing risk mitigation measures.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging insider threat techniques to enhance detection methods.
  • Regularly assess and improve the organization's insider threat program by integrating lessons learned from past incidents.
  • Coordinates Red/Blue Team Activities with Pen testers and InfoSec.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Required Experience and Competencies


  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related discipline required.
  • 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on insider threat analysis or similar roles (e.g., security analyst, incident response) required.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or ability to obtain CISSP certification within 6 months of entering this position required.
  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools and other security monitoring platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with data loss prevention (DLP) tools and insider threat detection methodologies. Experience with Microsoft Purview is a plus preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud security, identity and access management (IAM), and security auditing tools preferred.
  • Experience in threat hunting or incident response preferred.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI in the context of security preferred.
  • Experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Security Operations and Continuous Monitoring,
  • Knowledge of the state and federal regulatory requirements pertaining to Protected Healthcare Information (PHI), Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Knowledge of Health Information Trust (HITRUST) Alliance Control Standard Framework (CSF).
  • Ability to express ideas and convey information effectively in verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to keep abreast of new/current laws, regulations, standards, and best practices in Information Security and Technology.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and tools including software and systems to maintain ongoing effectiveness of security and operational skills.
  • Understanding of firewalls, proxies, Security information and event management (SIEM), antivirus, and Intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS) concepts.

We are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $85,170 - $106,465, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual corporate Success Sharing bonus program, which is based on the company's annual performance. If you are hired at Vituity, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
