Electric Power Research Institute, Inc. (EPRI) has multiple positions available for Engineer/Scientist III in Knoxville, TN. Provide technical expertise and analytical services for existing and new transmission grid operations simulation and modeling studies and research projects, including power system dynamic model development, validation, and simulation, development of software tool for voltage control optimization and reactive power management, advanced power flow and contingency analysis methods, and other operational system assessment functions. This position will take direction from senior staff to conduct grid operation and planning R&D project tasks and to complete modeling and simulation-based power system studies. Perform case studies with utility members related to Volt/var optimization and related projects. Participate in industry working groups/forums in areas related to the current R&D work focus. Presenting findings and analysis to EPRI members via webcast and formal technical reporting. Publish and present technical papers in areas of expertise. May telecommute. 40 hours/week; $96,158 - $148,330/year
