Senior Development Associate, Major and Principal Gifts
Main focus: Key support for the portfolio and administrative needs of the Senior Vice President, Major and Principal Gifts, and support for one other fundraiser in the Office of Major and Principal Gifts.
Location: Palo Alto, CA (hybrid); the successful candidate for this role will be based in the Bay Area.

Through fundraising and grantmaking, the Foundation drives scientific research, innovation, and policy change that will improve care, advance cures, and reform healthcare systems for this and future generations.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Senior Vice President oversees the Foundation's Major Gifts and Principal Gifts teams-two independent teams, each with dedicated leadership, gift officers, and support teams, united under one executive leader. Both teams work with individuals and family foundations to raise philanthropic support ranging from $100,000 to $100 million or more. This work involves partnering closely with the Foundation President's Office and frequently interacting with the hospital CEO's Office, the Dean of the School of Medicine's Office, and Foundation and hospital board members.
The Senior Vice President's Office of Major and Principal Gifts is focused on advancing the Senior Vice President's responsibilities as both a frontline fundraiser and an executive leader. The Senior Vice President's portfolio is specifically focused on donors who have the potential to make philanthropic gifts of $10 million or more.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Senior Development Associate primarily supports the administrative and portfolio needs of the Senior Vice President, Major and Principal Gifts, and helps provide support for one other fundraiser in the Office of Major and Principal Gifts. This person is a highly organized, detail-oriented, strategic team player who can exercise strong judgment, take initiative, and successfully work on concurrent tasks at a fast pace. This person is an expert communicator, and both comfortable with and excited about working with various working styles, role groups, and job functions. They are proactive and innovative in developing systems, routines, and approaches to support the work of the Senior Vice President and the Office overall.
This role will occasionally be called upon to assist across the Office of Major and Principal Gifts as needed. They will report to the Assistant Director, Principal Gifts.
The compensation range for this position is $40.83- $44.23 per hour.
