WHAT YOU’LL DO


As the Product Marketing Manager, you are an integral member of the PDT core team and will drive the marketing strategies for assigned product portfolio.  You will collaborate on the development of marketing campaigns and strategies to support the successful in-market launch, adoption, and retention for specific assigned brands/products. Your responsibilities will include participating in go-to-market planning and execution, contributing to new product launches, developing product messaging, and collaborating with sales on effective collateral to create a superior client experience. You will partner with the growth marketing and brand & marketing communications function to execute, measure and optimize marketing programs and campaigns. As a key member of the Product Delivery Team, you will collaborate with the cross-functional leads on product development, go-to-market and product life-cycle management.


HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME



  • Collaborate with product, technology and sales as a key member of the PDT to develop the product strategy, go-to-market plans, lean business cases and project prioritization. 

  • Participate in the development of product line/solution marketing strategy and oversee execution of marketing plans based on an understanding of customer needs. 

  • Collaborate with the Growth Marketing and Marketing Communications team on the execution of marketing plans including creative strategy and deliverables to support product launches, drive demand, adoption, usage and loyalty.  

  • Help translate customer needs and product differentiation into compelling product positioning, messaging, and impactful value propositions. Participate in the creation of customer journeys and persona, needs and pain points to be leveraged. 

  • Contribute to development of product positioning and competitively differentiated messaging based on customer insights, market research and product knowledge.  

  • Contribute to KPIs development for specific product lines

  • Help write strategy and creative briefs to articulate plans for internal and external communications campaigns.  

  • Work with subject matter experts and content creators to develop content strategies that engage target audiences and naturally support a solution-oriented sale.  

  • Contribute to an understanding of marketplace, users and competitors. Partner with colleagues in Product to maintain competitive intelligence.

  • May manage external partnerships to reach and engage target audiences, increase brand awareness, and drive demand. 

  • Adhere to Ascend product marketing approach, templates and processes.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED



  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, advertising, or a related field. 

  • 3+ years related marketing experience, preferably in a B2B category.

  • Experience in educational content or education technology preferred

  • Experience with Pragmatic Marketing framework will be considered a plus. 

  • Exceptional collaboration skills, and ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships.  

  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize. 

  • Experience executing go-to-market strategies, messaging, and customer segmentation. 

  • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences 

  • Passionate about understanding customer needs and behaviors and translating them into actionable insights. 

  • Ability to multi-task in a high-volume, fast paced, and entrepreneurial environment without sacrificing attention to detail.

  • Work as part of a valued member of a lean marketing team but also thrive independently; managing project specific or initiative timelines and resources.

  • Ability to rapidly prioritize and react to changing market and organizational dynamics.
