This role oversees labor, materials, and production for electrical construction projects to ensure technical and operational excellence. Responsibilities include developing team members, ensuring compliance with standards, managing manpower and materials, and fostering strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Management
Ensure all work complies with plans, codes, and specifications.
Oversee field production activities, including planning, scheduling, and tracking labor efficiencies.
Identify and resolve issues proactively to maintain project flow.
Review and maintain installation documentation and ensure "as-builts" are accurate.
Monitor adherence to project budgets, labor hour goals, and installation timelines.
Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to set, monitor, and achieve project goals.
Team Leadership & Development
Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to Foremen, helping them grow into General Foremen roles.
Assign tasks efficiently to crew members and sub-Foremen, ensuring productivity and adherence to project requirements.
Train field staff in compliance, safety, and technical standards, preparing them for higher-level responsibilities.
Material & Equipment Management
Manage material usage, storage, and costs to minimize waste and overruns.
Oversee tool and equipment usage, maintenance, and inventory.
Actively identify and implement Pre-Fab opportunities.
Client & Stakeholder Relations
Foster strong relationships with clients, general contractors, architects, and other stakeholders.
Communicate updates, challenges, and solutions effectively with all parties.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and contract documents.
Monitor installations for quality and functionality, addressing discrepancies as needed.
Enforce safety practices and ensure proper reporting of injuries and incidents.
Safety & Training
Provide and enforce safety training and compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Regularly inspect job sites for safe working conditions and correct unsafe situations.
Experience: 5+ years in an electrical construction Foreman/General Foreman role.
Licenses: Current Journeyman Wireman license (if required); OSHA 30 certification.
Technical Knowledge:
Proficient in reading electrical plans, specifications, and NFPA codes.
Skilled in power systems, lighting, fire protection, security, data networks, and control panels.
Experienced in troubleshooting and ensuring compliance of electrical installations.
Project Management: Strong scheduling, cost management, and labor tracking skills.
