Job Description:

Aegis Aerospace is currently looking for a Human Systems Discipline Integrator to join our team in Houston, TX.

Overview: The role of the JSC Health and Medical Technical Authority (HMTA) is to execute the Technical Authority governance model for human space flight for the NASA Headquarters Office of the Chief Health and Medical Officer (OCHMO). The focus of HMTA in human spaceflight programs is on the Program's vehicle design implementation of HMTA Standards (NASA-STD-3001), ensuring that each human spaceflight Program defines the appropriate applicability, tailoring, and verification approach for NASA-STD-3001, Volumes 1 and 2. This is accomplished through dedicated and cross-matrixed Human Health and Performance (HH&P) and integration personnel. This highly diverse staff develops and approves the applicable set of Program human health and performance requirements and monitors how well they are met, documents issues of unmet or under met requirements, communicates the status of these issues to Human Health and Performance (HH&P) management, Program Medical Officers (PMOs), and Chief Health and Performance Officers (CHPOs), and prepares materials for communicating awareness or escalating issues as needed. This work is done for all current and emerging NASA human space flight programs, the Human Research Program, and other human-related technology programs. This position will be part of a team of integrators and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who work together to ensure HLS adequately incorporates and implements NASA HMTA standards from NASA-STD-3001. The Discipline Integrator organizes and implements processes that facilitate HH&P and HMTA review of commercial vendor documentation and coordinates discussions and products to help assess vendor implementation of HMTA requirements. This position coordinates discussion of human system requirements and associated HH&P topics between SMEs, commercial vendor integration leads, and other stakeholders. The Discipline Integrator will obtain and maintain knowledge of a specific subset of human health and performance requirements including their applicability to HLS and will maintain awareness of commercial vendor implementation of these requirements. This position will support the HLS HMTA and HHP personnel with communications, maintaining situational awareness, and preparation of related materials to execute those tasks. This position interfaces with HMTA and JSC HHP Division personnel, Program and Project personnel, and commercial vendors. Human Systems Integration strategies are implemented to inform the HMTA and efficiently support Human Spaceflight Programs. Lessons learned while providing support to Human Spaceflight Programs are leveraged to improve HMTA standards and strategic processes.
  • Establish and maintain general knowledge of HMTA Standards and commercial vendor implementation of applicable HMTA Standards.
  • Identify, communicate, and help coordinate discussion of issues related to HHP that impact HLS.
  • Participate in designated meetings. This includes proactively screening agendas, engaging appropriate HHP representatives and/or SMEs as needed, taking notes during meetings, and communicating relevant information to the HMTA/HHP team.
  • Coordinate with HMTA, HHP Management, HHP technical SMEs, HLS Program personnel, and commercial vendors.
  • Coordinate and participate in Program document and design reviews, which includes identifying ways to streamline processes and issues that may impact completion of tasks.
  • Participate in HMTA meetings, NASA Human Spaceflight Program meetings, HHP meetings, and internal team meetings; develop and deliver presentations as necessary.
  • Responsible for compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all the Company's safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
  • Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies, and procedures.
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance level as determined by the Company.
  • Responsible for completing all assigned training.
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field and up to 5 years' experience.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and coordinating with multi-disciplined teams.
  • Demonstrated the ability to work independently and shall possess strong verbal and written communication skills including delivering presentations and writing reports. Verbal skills also include the capability to speak up in meetings and guide discussions.
  • Capability to listen to Subject Matter Experts (SME), and to understand enough to represent their expertise, but not to serve as the expert to the exclusion of the SME.
  • Ability to recognize which SMEs and stakeholders are necessary for specific discussions, actions, and activities.
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Office's suite of tools, especially Excel, and SharePoint.
DESIRED:
  • Knowledge of NASA's HLS Program is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience with human systems requirements and verification in human spaceflight vehicle design and/or with NASA Technical Authority, as well as experience in NASA spaceflight operations.
  • Knowledge of disciplines within human health and performance.
  • Familiarity with NASA's Human System Standards (e.g., NASA-STD-3001) and human space flight.
  • Demonstrated experience writing, decomposing, and tailoring human systems design and verification statements.
  • Demonstrated experience with human factors activities such as human-in-the-loop tests and task analyses.
