Job Summary
Position: Clinical Pharmacist II (Designated Sterile Compounding Pharmacist) Department: Pharmacy Reports to: Pharmacy Operations Manager Summary: The Designated Sterile Compounding Pharmacist provides oversight of all sterile and non-sterile compounding activities that take place within the pharmacy to ensure safe and effective pharmaceutical care for inpatient and outpatient populations. This role includes ensuring the pharmacy remains in compliance will all sterile compounding regulation, supervising pharmacy staff in the act of compounding, ensuring proper training for new employees, and mentoring pharmacy students. The position requires prior experience with sterile compounding procedures, ensuring timely and accurate personnel sampling , compounding medications, and participating in quality assurance initiatives and institutional committees. Key Responsibilities: - Supervise and mentor Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Interns in all aspects of sterile and non-Sterile compounding. - maintenance and creation of Sterile and non-Sterile compound recipes. - develop and monitor Pharmacy-driven quality assurance measures. - Participate in institutional committees and task forces. - maintain regulatory compliance and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.



Qualifications


Qualifications: - Education: PharmD with 3 years of hospital experience or residency (preferred) OR BS in Pharmacy with 7 years of hospital experience. - Certification: Board Certification in Sterile Compounded Preparations (BCSCP) (preferred). - Licensure: Current Massachusetts Pharmacy Registration in good standing. Working Conditions: Primarily works in the Pharmacy Department with occasional exposure to patient care areas. Physical duties include standing, walking, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
