Group Therapist
Primarily responsible for the development and provision of group activities (therapeutic, psychoeducational and activity based on the unit.
Provision of appropriate group activities for patients on the unit to improve mental health as well as the ability to cope with daily living and inevitable crises.
Collection of data through observation and daily ongoing assignments.
Prepares and provides forums for discussion and activities to improve mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.
Provides individual and/or group instruction to develop and maintain appropriate ADL Skills (hygiene, nutrition, etc.).
Communication of findings to members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Participation in development, implementation and evaluation of multi-disciplinary treatment plans of care.
Assess and communicate need for supplies for groups and appropriate sensory intervention for patients.
Assist in staff development of group facilitation skills.
Qualifications -
Experience:Three or more years of clinical experience associated with mental health is preferred.
Education/Degree requirements: Completion of master's degree program in social work, psychology, counseling or related field.
Licensure, Certifications, or Registration: Current Social Work License (LCSW, LICSW) or License in a related field (LMHC, Licensed Psychologist) in the State of MA is preferred.
Bilingual Spanish preferred
