Description -



Group Therapist


  • Primarily responsible for the development and provision of group activities (therapeutic, psychoeducational and activity based on the unit.

  • Provision of appropriate group activities for patients on the unit to improve mental health as well as the ability to cope with daily living and inevitable crises.

  • Collection of data through observation and daily ongoing assignments.

  • Prepares and provides forums for discussion and activities to improve mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.

  • Provides individual and/or group instruction to develop and maintain appropriate ADL Skills (hygiene, nutrition, etc.).

  • Communication of findings to members of the multi-disciplinary team.

  • Participation in development, implementation and evaluation of multi-disciplinary treatment plans of care.

  • Assess and communicate need for supplies for groups and appropriate sensory intervention for patients.

  • Assist in staff development of group facilitation skills.






Qualifications -






  • Experience:Three or more years of clinical experience associated with mental health is preferred.


  • Education/Degree requirements: Completion of master's degree program in social work, psychology, counseling or related field.


  • Licensure, Certifications, or Registration: Current Social Work License (LCSW, LICSW) or License in a related field (LMHC, Licensed Psychologist) in the State of MA is preferred.

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
