Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner Fellow NP Trainee The Mass General Hospital Division of Palliative Care & Geriatric Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Harvard Interprofessional Palliative Care Fellowship Program. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse fellowship in palliative care is part of the Harvard Interprofessional Palliative Care Fellowship program. It is an immersive, year-long, interprofessional training program that aims to equip the fellow with advanced skills in all dimensions of palliative care practice, from advanced communication skills to complex symptom management and psychosocial support. The fellow trains alongside physicians, other nurse practitioners, pharmacy and social work fellows. The trainee gains skills in comprehensive palliative care assessment of patients with chronic life-limiting illness, focused physical examination, and formulation of plans to address symptoms, psychosocial distress and promote goal-concordant care. Clinical work is directly supervised by attending physicians, staff nurse practitioners and other members of the interprofessional palliative care team. The trainee also participates in academic work, focused on resilience, leadership, research and education. By the end of the fellowship year, the fellow will have gained the skills to independently practice, providing high level palliative care to patients with complex disease and will have the tools to engage in scholarship, research and other academic pursuits. Qualifications


Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse licensure in Massachusetts as Nurse Practitioner We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner who holds a Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing or possesses equivalent experience. Note: you have graduated by January 2025; be board-certified or board-eligible by January 31, 2025; Licensed as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts by March 31, 2025. Minimum of 2 years nursing experience as an RN or NP in the following: acute care, oncology, ambulatory care or palliative care preferred.
