Job Summary
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Working independently and under general supervision from the Administrative Director of the CNCT and the Co-Investigators (Neurology/Neurosurgery) to support one clinical research study related to remote monitoring of adult patients with neurologic coditions. This role may be responsible for the following activities: making independent judgments of the suitability of potential participants for clinical trials, developing and implementing patient recruitment strategies, personally discussing the study with prospective subjects and assisting with recruitment. They will also be collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests including, but not limited to, neuropsychological assessments (after training ), maintaining and updating data gevnerated by the study; all IRB submissions such as applications, amendments, annual reviews, and adverse events. This position is dependent on the acquisitionand continuation of external research grants or funding.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates the implementation, both internally and externally, of sponsored clinical research studies.
2. Initiates and maintains contact with study participants. Help screen applicants, ensuring they meet appropriate criteria, and makes independent judgment as to the suitability of their participation. May be required to perform certain clinical tests.
3. Working in concert with Principal Investigators, Research Fellows and/or Research Manager, develops and implements patient recruitment strategies.
4. Develops, organizes, and/or maintains the study database. Responsible for data entry on electronic databases, validation and quality control.
5. Recommends changes to research protocols.
6. Performs literature searches, as appropriate.
7. Assists PI or Research Manager with preparation for presentation and written published articles.
8. Responsible for training and orienting new staff. May serve as a team leader or in a supervisory capacity in a smaller area.
9. All other duties as assigned.
