Job Summary GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
A research technician position is available in the Anderson Group (http://wellman.massgeneral.org/faculty-anderson-pi.htm) at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital. Research will focus on developing a new technology for controlling heat transfer at the skin surface. Candidates with a background in materials science or engineering are preferred, but anyone with a curious mind and desire to help develop new technology is welcome to apply. This position is available for a one-year appointment with the possibility of extension.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares basic solutions and performs base-level procedures as assigned
Maintains laboratory notebook
Understands and applies basic scientific techniques
Conducts analysis of results and may begin interpretation of results
Sets up and prepares routine experiments as directed
Assists with organizing materials for publication or presentation
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary research team
Desire and commitment to participate in translational research projects
Experience and expertise with materials science or engineering is preferred but not required.
Computer literacy
Working knowledge of clinical research protocols
Ability to perform multiple tasks independently
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree required.
EXPERIENCE:
New graduates with some lab experience (via course work, internships, etc.) or those without any prior research experience will be considered.
