Job Summary
Responsible for performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment in accordance established procedures, infection control standards, industry standards, recommended practices on sterilization and regulatory requirements.


Essential Functions


-Processes specialty and general instruments.


-Resets instrument sets without error.


-Decontaminates instruments and equipment according to procedure.


-Maintain Central Sterile Department stock levels.


-Prepares and assembles surgical tray and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing.


-Communicates instrument repair needs to supervisor.



Qualifications


Education


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required





Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?

Licenses and Credentials


  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician [CRCST]

  • Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred





Experience


  • related experience 1-2 years preferred





Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Knowledge of case cart assembly.

  • Familiarity with the regulatory standards of materials management.

  • Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
