Job Description:

The Financial Aid Office’s focus is to eliminate unnecessary barriers to college access and completion. Our goal is to simplify the financial aid process as much as possible, and to make sure students are always engaged and aware of the next step. Our office allows us to reach students earlier and more efficiently, to have important conversations with students about their individual situations and what needs to be done to help them persist and succeed.

Essential Duties:



  • Supports Financial Aid Systems (Banner Financial Aid, Automic Workload Automation Applications Manager (Appworx), Slate, Laserfiche, DocuSign) with end-user training and support, documentation, maintenance, and development of new processes and procedures.

  • Provides business analysis to customers by identifying business needs and determining appropriate solutions to ensure consistent and reliable Financial Aid service delivery.

  • Assists with the development of ad-hoc and operational Financial Aid and Scholarship Office reports as well as state, federal, and ancillary annual reporting obligations via IBM Cognos and/or Microsoft PowerBI.

  • Engages appropriate resources within IT including applications, infrastructure, services, projects, and business strategy teams to meet customer expectations and needs.  

  • Works with legacy software/systems and identifies opportunities for modernization.

  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders such as vice-presidents, deans, directors, financial officers, development officers, and strategic faculty, staff, and students.  Serves as a primary point of contact for IT related issues and as an escalation point to resolve   customer issues and complaints. Helps OU IT staff coordinate with assigned area for effective planning of projects, upgrades, releases, etc., and effective resolution of unplanned issues. 

  • Collaborates with other Technology Strategists to identify appropriate solutions.  

  • Performs related duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position. 


**This position will be located in Norman with a flexible and/or remote option possible for experienced candidates after required training period*


Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, AND: 




  • 36 months experience in IT, Business, Customer Relationship Management, or related field.




Equivalency/Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 84 months of related experience. 


Skills:



  •  Project management, business analysis, conflict resolution, and other resource management skills

  •  Proven performance delivering contract-based service to customers   

  •  Basic knowledge of enterprise technologies like network, storage, identity management, cloud serves, etc.    

  •  Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives     

  •  Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information   

  •  Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions

Departmental Preferences:


  • Proficiency in developing robust SQL queries and/or reports

  • Proficiency with MS Excel

  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex and often legacy codebase, processes, and procedures including Oracle PL/SQL, shell scripting, Python, and low-code/no-code workflows

  • Ability to effectively document and convey complex processes via written and/or oral means with or without the assistance of tools such as Visio process diagrams

  • Basic knowledge of enterprise technologies like network, storage, identity management, cloud services, etc.
