National Grid Renewables is seeking an experienced Developer to lead the development of solar and energy storage projects in the MISO and PJM markets in Illinois. This will include the advancement of an existing project pipeline along with due diligence and greenfield efforts to add new projects to our pipeline.
Responsibilities
Directly manage and lead project development, including greenfield and site acquisition projects, through the full development lifecycle, to achieve NTP.
Identify the market opportunities for developing utility-scale solar, wind or energy storage projects
Identify commercialization strategies of the project developments
Work with a remote team, including land agents and consultants, to acquire land control, clear mineral rights and identify environmental constraints
Coordinate interdepartmentally with Financial Modeling, Engineering, Construction, Real Estate, Policy and Permitting team to ensure project viability.
Lead and manage community outreach including local governmental units, local agencies, organizations, and community members about project development, in coordination with Marketing and the larger Development team
Manage relationships with project stakeholders and landowners, provide regular correspondence and project updates through various mailings, private events or personal visits
Represent National Grid Renewables with federal, state and local officials, regulators, utilities, RTOs, and other stakeholders throughout the project development process.
Work closely with the permitting team on obtaining entitlements (land use permits, environmental permits) for each project
Research local land use ordinances for applicability to solar development
Meet due diligence requirements for interconnection application and study processes.
Represent the company and project at public hearings
Create and manage project budgets and schedules
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 3 years of project development experience (renewable energy, real estate, housing development, etc.).
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field (Technical, Business, Science)
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Demonstrate Organizational Creativity and Leadership experience
Ability to work independently as a self-starter, to multitask on multiple projects and collaborate with a larger team
Proficient computer skills and software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint and Teams. Familiarity with Project Management and Mapping software is preferred.
Pay Range for the posted level: Minimum of $90,000.00 - 125,000.00
