Description: Food manufacturer in the Anaheim, CA area is seeking Vice President of Quality Assurance to oversee their Los Angeles area facilities. This person is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the company's quality assurance function. This role is critical in ensuring that all products and services meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced and results-oriented leader with a proven track record of success in building and leading high-performing quality teams.
Responsibilities
Develop and Implement Quality Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with company goals and business objectives.
Establish and maintain a robust quality management system (QMS) that meets industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the development and implementation of quality policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Lead and Manage Quality Teams:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of quality professionals.
Recruit, hire, and train qualified quality engineers, inspectors, and other quality personnel.
Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Product Quality Assurance:
Oversee all aspects of product quality, from design and development to manufacturing and delivery.
Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement appropriate controls to mitigate quality risks.
Investigate and resolve quality issues promptly and effectively.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Customer Satisfaction:
Monitor customer satisfaction levels and identify areas for improvement.
Implement corrective and preventive actions to address customer complaints and prevent future quality issues.
Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure quality throughout the supply chain.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including ISO standards, FDA regulations, and other applicable laws and regulations.
Represent the company in regulatory audits and inspections.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the business.
Implement lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement methodologies.
Leverage data and analytics to identify trends, predict potential problems, and drive data-driven decisions.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) preferred.
Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance and management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
Skills:
Leadership and Management: Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills. Proven ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams.
Quality Expertise: Deep understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9001).
Technical Expertise: Strong technical background in engineering, manufacturing, or a relevant field.
Analytical and Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
Data Analysis: Strong data analysis and interpretation skills. Proficiency with data analysis tools and software.
